Mondovi woman faces several drug charges

Madison (Press Release) - A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned the following indictments Wednesday.

A charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Rachel A. Knowles, also known as "Lil' Ma," 38, of Mondovi, is charged with three counts of possessing crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, three counts of aiding and abetting the possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, and one count of possessing crack cocaine.  The indictment alleges that she did so between November 2011 and September 2012.

If convicted, Knowles faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each count. The charges against her are the result of an investigation by the West Central Drug Task Force. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Pfluger.
