Western Wisconsin (WQOW) - Some drivers woke up to slippery roads Friday morning including this school bus in Dunn County.
The bus is one of four that had problems with extremely icy roads near Menomonie Friday morning. A parent used his pickup truck to help get this bus back on the road. No one was hurt.
Menomonie transportation says several of the buses had to wait for a sand truck to come by before they could get moving again.
Eau Claire police were also particularly busy Thursday night and Friday
morning. They handled 15 crashes and two slide-ins. A school bus and
an ambulance were among the vehicles involved. No specifics are
available yet on those incidents.
People who chose to go on foot seemed
to fare better. The emergency room at Sacred Heart Hospital only saw
one patient with injuries from slipping and falling. The ER at Mayo Clinic Health System Eau Claire did not see any patients.
