MADISON (WKOW) -- The 6h Annual Polar Dash encourages kids and families to get active.

The event will help fight childhood obesity.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 16.6 percent of Wisconsin children ages 2 years to 5 years are obese and 9.3 percent of adolescents in Wisconsin grades 9 through 12 are obese.

The event will be on Saturday, January 19 at the clinic and grounds of Meriter Monona from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
