JANESVILLE (WKOW) – A Janesville man is arrested for his 4th OWI after doing doughnuts in a parking lot Friday night.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office responded to the Willowdale Saloon, located on the 5900 block of W. STH 11 in Rock Township, around 9:08 p.m. for a report of a vehicle doing "doughnuts" in the parking lot.
As authorities were enroute, the male driver exited the vehicle and was inside the bar where the bartender refused to serve him.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with several bar patrons outside who witnessed the incident and were able to locate the suspect's vehicle, a 1992 Dodge Ram charger SUV. A witness reported damage to her vehicle as a result of gravel from the parking lot being thrown all over the hood and roof of the car.
Deputies identified the driver as 42-year-old Christopher M. Hartke of Janesville. Deputies asked Hartke to submit to standardize field sobriety testing and he was arrested for 4th offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Authorities transported Hartke to the Rock County Jail where he was also cited for reckless driving and operating after revocation. Hartke was held pending an initial appearance in jail court.
