MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Department searches for a suspect after a strong armed robbery.
It happened on Saturday about 3:00 p.m. on the 1600 block of Stoughton Road at the PDQ gas station.
A 59-year-old woman from La Crosse was walking into the PDQ when a suspect approached her and grabbed her purse off her arm. There was a short struggle. The woman was dragged several feet. She then released the purse and the suspect ran away.
The suspect was seen getting into a nearby car that was parked on Mendota Street.
The van was described as green in color with gold accents and a Wisconsin registration plate.
The suspect is described as a black, male in his late teens to early 20s with a heavier build. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and gray sweat pants.
