MADISON (WKOW) - Retired judge Tim Vocke will serve as chairman of the nonpartisan board that oversees elections in Wisconsin.
Government Accountability Board director Kevin Kennedy selected Vocke's name at random from a glass vase. He replaces David Deininger as chairman of the board.
The board is comprised of six retired judges. Vocke is from Rhinelander and served as an assistant Racine County district attorney from 1973 to 1976 and was Vilas County circuit court judge from 1979 to 1983. Since then he has served as a reserve judge, medical malpractice mediator and referee for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
He retired from practicing law in 2009.
The Government Accountability Board works with local election clerks on administering elections and investigating potential ethics violations.

MADISON (WKOW) - The Government Accountability Board is set to pick a new chairman on Monday. The board that oversees elections in Wisconsin will hold a meeting on Monday.
The Government Accountability Board is comprised of six retired judges who each serve staggered six-year terms. The current chairman is David Deininger. He picked his own name at random out of a glass bowl last year to serve as chairman.
This year the honors will be done by the board's director Kevin Kennedy.
The board works with local election clerks on administering elections and has been in the spotlight for its role in verifying signatures on recall petitions the past two years targeting state lawmakers and Gov. Scott Walker.
