MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police were called to Kohl's on East Springs Drive Friday afternoon for a shoplifter.
A loss prevention officer with the store had stopped 36-year-old John Wills, of Platteville, after he pushed a shopping cart with nearly $1,450 worth of merchandise out of the store.
The security officer told police he watched as the suspect selected items and remove anti-theft devices before putting clothing and fragrances into his cart.
Wills apologized stating, "I did something dumb."
Wills was arrested for retail theft.
