Dunn County (WQOW)- A Boyceville woman who found thousands of dollars deposited in her bank account by accident is accused of not returning some of it.
Five years ago, an accountant reported one of his employees had mistakenly deposited a customer's income tax refund into Amber Stuart's bank account. Menomonie police met with Stuart and reached an agreement that she would not be charged if she returned the money.
It totaled more than $7,000. But police say Stuart stopped making payments after a year and has not paid any money for the past three years. They say she still owes more than $2,000.
Stuart has now been charged with felony theft.
