Dems hoping for more in governor's speech - WQOW TV: Eau Claire, WI NEWS18 News, Weather, and Sports

MADISON (WKOW) -- State democrats say the governor's State of the State address was short on details.

They say even though Walker says his focus is on creating jobs, he's shown no urgency to do so over the first two years of his term.

Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca says, "We have heard so many excuses over the past year, now its time to set aside excuses and focus on actual immediately.  You know Wisconsin is number 42 in job creation.  Forbes Magazine projects for the next two years we're gonna remain 42nd.  this is unacceptable."

Minority Leader Chris Larson says, "We saw a lot of fluff, but we didn't see the details and what's gonna actually come from it.  And I think the biggest thing is he trotted out that was unfortunate, was talking about a mine, where, even the WMC which is the one who's pushing it, has said that we will not see the jobs he's promising for at least seven years."

Republicans applauded the governor's address.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said Walker laid out an aggressive agenda for the legislature.
