Historic copy of "Les Miserables" found

OSHKOSH (WKOW) -- A woman in Oshkosh recently learned she has a piece of history sitting on her shelf.

In 2008, Sarah Anderson bought an old copy of "Les Miserables" for $3 at a library book sale.

After she saw the new movie of the same name, she took a second look at the book, and she realized it belonged to General William Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs, the Denver Railroad, a spy in the Civil War, and a military general.

An archivist at the Colorado Pioneer museum verified the book did belong to Palmer.

Anderson says she's not sure of the book's monetary value and she's donating it to the museum for its historic value.
