CALUMET COUNTY (WKOW) -- Saturday afternoon, Calumet County authorities were called to Lake Winnebago after a man and his ATV fell through the ice.

They say a 42-year-old man was attempting to cross an opening but didn't make it. He fell through the ice about 300 yards off the shore of the High Cliff Marina in High Cliff State Park.

The Calumet County Dive Team was able to find the victim after he had been underwater for about an hour. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital where he later died.

The man's name has not been released.
