BEAVER DAM (WKOW) -- A man is rescued after his car goes through the ice on Beaver Dam Lake on Sunday afternoon.
A Dodge County Sheriff's Office report says a 19-year-old man called 911 from the roof of his car, after it broke through when he was driving on Beaver Dam Lake. The car was submerged up to the roof.
The Beaver Dam man was able to get away from the vehicle and walk to the Beaver Dam Fire Department hovercraft that was searching for him. He was brought to shore by the hovercraft and was not hurt.
Officials say open water had recently been reported in the area where the car broke through, and motor vehicle traffic is not recommended. People should be extra careful near ice, especially at night.
