MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison-area students came together in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
For the second year, Madison's King Coalition hosted the "MLK Youth Service Day" at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.
"There are tons and tons of opportunities for kids to see that they can pursue careers and educational opportunities in the sciences or engineering or math and that comes from the message Dr. King left us with." Tosha Songolo, an event organizer told 27 News.
Kids were also able to help with community service projects such as putting together dental kits an tying fleece blankets.
