MADISON (WKOW) -- This weekend you can hit the slopes for a good cause at Madison School and Community Recreation's (MCSR) 23rd annual Downhill Ski Fundraiser.
The evening of skiing is on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Tyrol Basin in Mount Horeb.
Proceeds from the fundraiser support the purchase of adapted snow equipment for people with disabilities. Each of those sleds cost about $2,000.
The money is also used for scholarships for people with disabilities.
Tickets for youth and adults are $20. That covers the ski rental or snowboard rental, helmets, and lift ticket.
If you are interested in going, you must purchase your tickets in advance by Friday. You can
register online. Tickets are mailed to you. You can also call 608-204-3000 for more information.
MSCR does offer affordable downhill and ski lessons, and offers many other recreation programs for all ages.
MSCR's Outreach Manager Sharon Neylon joins us on 27 News at 5 to talk about the event.
