BELOIT (WKOW) -- In late December 2012, the Beloit Police Department initiated an investigation into thefts of cemetery grave vases and military markers.

The items were stolen from East Lawn Cemetery.  As a result of the investigation, the police department has secured an arrest warrant for Kristopher Kaehler.

Kaehler is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes, approximately 5'10" and 200 pounds.  Kaehler is a resident of Roscoe, Illinois.

The felony warrant charges Kaehler with criminal damage and theft over $10,000 to a cemetery.

The Beloit Police Department has since recovered 181 vases and 112 military grave markers from area scrap yards.

Anyone with information on Kaehler's whereabouts is encouraged to call the Rock County Dispatch Center at 608-757-2244, or Beloit Area Crime Stoppers at 608-362-7463.
