Lake Hallie (WQOW) - A local village board is taking the next step to find out how much a new public safety building will cost.
Last year, Lake Hallie voters gave their support to a new public safety facility. Since then, there's been a lot of discussion about how to get the project done. On Wednesday night, there was another meeting on the topic. The board is now requesting architectural and engineering bids. The deadline for those bids is March 18th. That will give the board a better idea about cost. It then plans to award contracts by April 1st.
There are steps along the way that still need board approval, but the board's hope is to complete the design phase by the end of September and possibly have the new building finished by September 2014.
