MADISON (WKOW) -- Three Special Olympics athletes from Wisconsin are headed to the biggest sporting event of the year, the 2013 World Winter Games in South Korea.
They got a big send-off Wednesday, along with their coaches.
Alex Guild of De Pere, Daina Shilts of Neillsville and Jason Suino of Hayward are all competing.
They spent months training, and will now be up against more than 2,400 Special Olympics athletes from around the world.
"I'll be trying to win not just for me and the country and the state, but for all of us. So go USA!" says Guild.
He will be competing in snowshoe racing, Shilts in snowboarding and Suino in cross-country skiing.
This is the 10th year for the World Winter Games.
