Jury brought in from Marathon Co. for Argyle murder case

ARGYLE (WKOW) -- A jury from Marathon County will be brought in to hear the case of an Argyle man accused of killing his children in a house fire.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports the source of the jury was chosen last week. Green County Judge Thomas Vale had ruled earlier that extensive media coverage made it difficult to find an impartial jury in Lafayette County, where the crime happened.

Armin Wand III is accused of setting fire at his home in an attempt to kill his entire family. The fire did kill his three young boys. His wife, Sharon was badly hurt, but survived. She was able to save the life of their daughter. Sharon was also pregnant, and Wand is charged with a murder count related to the death of their unborn child.

Jury selection in the case will happen in Marathon County starting February 22, according to the State Journal. The jury will then be bused to Darlington and sequestered for the trial.
