LAFAYETTE COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities are investigating a Lafayette County crash that killed one man.
Lafayette County officials say Levi Kinsinger, 20, died after he was thrown from the Amish buggy he was driving Wednesday evening. The buggy was struck from behind by a pickup truck while traveling west near the 2400 block of Highway 81 in the town of Elk Grove, which is southeast of Platteville.
Kinsinger, of Platteville, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries where he died Thursday morning. The truck driver, Eugene Jenson, 29, of Darlington, was not hurt. The horse pulling the buggy had to be put down because it was seriously hurt in the crash.
Officials say the investigation indicates the lights on the buggy were operating at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing and will be referred to the Lafayette County District Attorney's Office for review and possible charges.
