UPDATE: Authorities ID woman killed in crash - WQOW TV: Eau Claire, WI NEWS18 News, Weather, and Sports

UPDATE: Lucille Engrisch, 83, of Rice Lake was killed in the crash. Her passenger, Russell Engrisch, 57, also of Rice Lake sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Press Release from the WI State Patrol: At 6:48 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 a crash occurred on Highway 53 northbound at the Chetek/County Highway I exit in Barron County near Chetek.

On 1/24/13 at approximately 6:48 p.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash onHighway 53 northbound at the Chetek exit (County Highway I).

Upon arrival the Trooper found a vehicle on its roof in the gore area of the Chetek off-ramp. The driver was fatally injured and the lone passenger was seriously injured. The passenger was transported to LMC in Rice Lake.

At the time of the crash, the area was receiving light snow and the roadway was snow covered and slippery.

The names of the deceased and injured parties are being withheld pending notification of family.

Assisting agencies included the Chetek Police Department, Chetek Ambulance, Chetek Fire Department, and Barron County Sheriff's Dept.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
