MADISON (WKOW) -- It's National Self Defense Month and next week you can learn some self defense moves from a professional, and all for a good cause.
Madison Media Institute (MMI) is holding a self defense class on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m. in Theater Building B. The event is free, but donations are welcome.
All proceeds from the class will go towards Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, which helps children in the area who have been abused.
Sensei Tony Armstrong from Midwest Professional Karate (MPK) DeForest is the guest instructor.
The class' organizer, Leslie Willoughby, from MMI, joins us on 27 News at 5 on Friday to talk about self defense. She is joined by two black belts from MPK to show some of the moves people can learn during the class.
