WISCONSIN (WKOW)-- More than 10,000 jobless workers in Wisconsin may lose out on their federal unemployment benefits.
The state's unemployment rate has been under 7% for the past three months, which means Wisconsin no longer meets the threshold for the nine week federal unemployment compensation program.
That means unemployed workers are only eligible for a maximum of 54 weeks of benefits instead of 63 weeks. The U.S Department of Labor says it is notifying those affected.
