MADISON (WKOW) -- January is radon action month and experts encourage you to test your home.

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers. It's responsible for an estimated 21,000 deaths annually in the United States.

Radon can't be seen, tasted or smelled but it can be found in soil everywhere. Radon is produced from the natural breakdown of uranium in the earth. Radon in the ground moves upward into the air, entering homes and buildings through foundation cracks, construction joints or gaps around pipes.

Radon expert, Bill Tucker joins Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend to tell us what we need to know about radon and at-home testing.
