Eau Claire (WQOW) - Some area students spent their Saturday in a salon not getting pampered, but giving to a good cause.
Saturday three Cadott 3rd graders and a high school freshman each donated at least 10 inches of hair to the non-profit group Locks of Love. They had their hair cut at Cambio Salon in Eau Claire. It's the second time two of the girls have made a donation. They say they're eager to help after having seen the need first hand.
"My twins that are donating today were actually very premie when they were born, and were in the hospital a long time. So we got to meet families with kids that have a lot of different medical conditions. It's kind of just something close to our heart. You know, if we can give something back to make it easier for them, we can do that," said Tarese Dubiel, mother of the twins making the donation.
The girls inspired members of their families to donate too. All together the group was able to donate 90 inches of hair. Cambio Salon offers free haircuts to anyone donating hair to Locks of Love.
