BARABOO (WKOW) Nine-year-old Ava Schwenn and her family were the guests at a Make-a-Wish party Saturday afternoon at the Culver's in Baraboo.
Ava, is a leukemia survivor, was granted a wish and now she and her family are going on vacation to Disney's new resort in Hawaii.
"The whole family gets to go along and just celebrate Ava's health and experience joy," said Nicole Williams, the Madison Regional Director for Make-a-Wish.
"They've been a huge support for our family," said Ava's mom Wendy. "And it's just a great organization."
Ava was recommended to Make-a-Wish by a social worker at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, where Ava was treated. This is the first trip to Hawaii set up through Make-a-Wish Wisconsin.
We asked Ava what she wants to do while she's there.
"I want to hula dance," she told us, adding that she wants to, "swim with the dolphins."
Make-a-Wish wanted to thank Jewelers for Children and Sophie's Jewelry in Baraboo for sponsoring this wish.
