WAUSAU (WKOW) -- The 25th Badger State Winter Games continue this weekend and one skier has competed in nearly all of them.
This is Bernie Palm's 20th year in the games. The 76-year-old lives in Brookfield and says he took up skiing when he moved from Germany about 30 years ago.
He says this year he has a good shot at earning a medal.
"The competition is going to be kind of easy because I'm the only one in
my age group, and the ranks get kind of thin at my age," says Palm.
Palm says he plans on keeping up the tradition as long as he can.
"It's addictive and that's what I call healthcare."
The alpine skiing competition continues Sunday at Granite Peak Ski Area in Wausau.
