2 Menasha women fined for stealing dead deer

Posted:

MENASHA (WKOW) – Two Menasha women have each been fined over $2,000 after being convicted of stealing a freshly killed deer last fall.

According to a Post-Crescent of Appleton report, a hunter stooped at a local tavern November 21 with a deer in his truck.  He ended up having an argument with the two Menasha women.

Authorities said the women decided to get back at the hunter by driving over the eight-point buck, but the deer got caught under their car.  The women dragged it down the road until they realized something was wrong.  The women called a friend who helped them throw the deer into a river.

Officials said the women were each fined about $2, 150 for stealing wild game and the friend was fined about $260.
