Press Release from the Rice Lake Fire Department: At approximately 2:23 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013, the City of Rice Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 2168 25th Avenue in the town of Oak Grove.
Upon arrival of the first fire department unit at approximately 2:36 p.m., found a fully involved approximately 30 x 80 barn fire. RLFD unites were advised that there were no occupants or animals in the barn at the time of the fire. The first in crew attempted to knock down the fire. The operations were quickly moved to exposure protection.
Bear Lake Haugen provided a mutual aid water tender.
The cause of this fire is under investigation by the RLFD at this time.
The structure is owned by Tony and Michelle Martino.
All fire department units returned to service at approximately 4:48 p.m.
One tanker/pumper, two water tenders, a mutual aid water tender, one command vehicle and one squad utility vehicle responded to the fire.
16 Rice Lake firefighters responded to the incident. Preliminary dollar loss has not been determined at this time.
