DNR holds open house to explain gypsy moth spraying plan

MADISON (WKOW) -- There's an open house this week on plans to kill gypsy moth caterpillars in Governor Dodge State Park this spring.

The Department of Natural Resources plans to spray the caterpillars with an insecticide from a low-flying airplane sometime between mid-May and early June. The spraying will cover about 230 acres, including beach and picnic areas.

There is an open house meeting to share the plans at the DNR's Dodgeville service center Thursday morning, January 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The address is 1500 North Johns Street in Dodgeville.
