Crash slows traffic on Highway 53

Eau Claire County (WQOW) - A part of Highway 53 was shut down when a driver hit a bridge.

The State Patrol says a car heading south was changing lanes just before the River Prairie exit, but had swerve to avoid a car in that lane.  The driver over corrected and hit the bridge crossing the Eau Claire River.  The lane was blocked for about 20 minutes while the car was removed.  The driver was taken to the hospital, there's no word on how serious their injuries are.
