Chippewa County (WQOW) - One of the Stanley prison inmates accused of trying to use forged paperwork to get out early will instead stay in prison longer.
Henry Spencer was sentenced Friday in Chippewa County court for attempted escape. The judge added a year-and-a-half onto the sentence Spencer is already serving for an armed robbery in Milwaukee.
In 2010 Stanley inmate Jimmy Baldwin, a convicted killer, allegedly used forged documents to walk out of prison more than 50 years early. Another inmate, Eddie Evans, was the alleged mastermind of the scheme. He allegedly forged documents to shorten the length of his supervision after he was released, and eliminated time he was supposed to serve in another state. Both Evans and Baldwin are scheduled to go on trial in March.
