Chippewa County (Press Release) - The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a one
vehicle traffic crash involving a Cornell Ambulance.
During the freezing rain event that covered most of the
Chippewa Valley this morning around 7 a.m. the Cornell Ambulance responded to a
EMS call in the City of Cornell on Baribeau Road of a patient having
chest pain.
The Cornell Ambulance had loaded the patient and began their
transport to St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls. As the ambulance approached
the intersection of Baribeua Road and Johnson Road the ambulance slid down the
hill and off the roadway striking a number of trees.
The driver of the ambulance, the EMT treating the patient in
the rear of the ambulance as well as the patient suffered injury in the crash.
Paramedic units from the City of Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Fire District and an
ambulance from Cadott responded to the scene.
It is believed no injuries are life threatening to any of
the people involved.
