Chippewa County (Press Release) - The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office is investigating a one vehicle traffic crash involving a Cornell Ambulance.

During the freezing rain event that covered most of the Chippewa Valley this morning around 7 a.m. the Cornell Ambulance responded to a EMS call in the City of Cornell on Baribeau Road of a patient having chest pain.

The Cornell Ambulance had loaded the patient and began their transport to St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls. As the ambulance approached the intersection of Baribeua Road and Johnson Road the ambulance slid down the hill and off the roadway striking a number of trees.

The driver of the ambulance, the EMT treating the patient in the rear of the ambulance as well as the patient suffered injury in the crash. Paramedic units from the City of Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Fire District and an ambulance from Cadott responded to the scene.
