During the freezing rain event that covered most of the Chippewa Valley this morning around 7 a.m. the Cornell Ambulance responded to a EMS call in the City of Cornell on Baribeau Road of a patient having chest pain.

The Cornell Ambulance had loaded the patient and began their transport to St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls. As the ambulance approached the intersection of Baribeua Road and Johnson Road the ambulance slid down the hill and off the roadway striking a number of trees.
