Eau Claire (WQOW) - An Eau Claire man is in critical condition after an early morning crash Monday on I-94.

J.J. Bertrang, 33, was driving eastbound on I-94 between Freeport and Albany, Minn. around 1:44 a.m., when his car was either moving slowly or stopped in the right lane. His vehicle, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, was rear-ended by a semi driven by Scotty VanWagner, 31, of Wyoming.

Roads were icy at the time of the crash.
