Chetek (Press Release) - Based on information received from the public, on Tuesday, January 29 search warrants were executed at Townsend Towing and the residence of Warren Townsend, both in the City of Chetek.
Charges being referred against Townsend include felony removing vehicle identification numbers and misdemeanor operating without a salvage license.
The investigation is ongoing.
Those involved in the search warrants were members of the Chetek Police Department, Barron County Sheriff's Department, Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin State Patrol, agents from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, agents of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and the city building inspector.
