MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Some Wisconsin residents will be close to the action on Super Bowl Sunday.
Relatives of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick are in New Orleans.
They flew out of Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon.
His aunt, Kathy Algiers, says the experience is a bit surreal.
"I am just ecstatic. I am really looking forward to the game. I can't wait to get down to New Orleans and see him on the field. It's going to be wonderful."
Uncle, Tom Algiers says, "Very excited. He got his chance and he really proved himself. He's doing great. Very happy for him cause this has been his dream, you know."
Colin Kaepernick spent the first four years of his life in Wisconsin before his family moved to California.
Many of his relatives are still in New London and Appleton.
