MADISON (WKOW) -- The City of Madison Streets Department says most of the roads are now cleared in our area.
Crews will go back through the districts to check and clean up any snow. They will also be working on clearing sidewalks.
The City of Madison remains under a snow emergency until 7:00 a.m. on Friday.
They hoped to have the roads cleared about 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, but crews were not able to get everything done until 7:00 a.m.

The City of Madison Streets Department hoped to have the roads cleared about 3:00 a.m. but crews now hope to have everything done by 7:00 a.m. on Thursday.
About 40 trucks were busy clearing the roads overnight. Crews say the interstates and highways are mostly clear, now they're working on the residential side streets.
A combination of snow and ice has made the side roads slippery. One snow plow driver has a 15 hour shift to make sure roads are ready for drivers for the morning commute and throughout the day.
One snow plow driver says salt won't be affective with freezing temperatures.
"Now with temperatures dropping, anything left on the main roads won't be affective like salt. Salt won't be affective for anything under 15 degrees, so we are applying sand," says Mike Huser, machine operator for the City of Madison.
The City of Madison Streets Department says to make their job easier, abide by the snow emergency parking rules. For Thursday and Friday, you should park on the odd side of the road. This allows crews to get every street cleared.
