JEFFERSON COUNTY (WKOW) -- A local dog has had a bit of a 'ruff' go of it in life thus far, and she needs your help to have a very important surgery. Kira, the dog, is the ambassador of Humane Society of Jefferson County in Jefferson, WI.

The Humane Society is currently fundraising for Kira because she has two torn cruciates and needs corrective surgery to help her regain full mobility. The surgery is very expensive. In fact, officials say, the procedure will cost around $8000.00. Shelter members have created a Facebook page for her, which you can view by clicking here.
