CROSS PLAINS (WKOW) -- Early Thursday afternoon, Dane County Sheriff's deputies responded to a car vs semi crash on County Highway P near Hidden Valley Road in the town of Cross Plains.
The semi driver, 46-year-old Sean O'Neill, of LaCrosse, was delivering food to the Hilltop Inn and was attempting to back into the parking lot from the southbound lane of County Highway P.
19-year-old Dusty Sippola, of Mazomanie, was traveling south on County Highway P and was going to pass the semi. As he began to pass, Sippola saw another vehicle coming from the north and returned to his lane, but was unable to stop before hitting the semi.
O'Neill was not hurt, and Sippola sustained only minor injuries. The southbound lane of County Highway P was shut down for more than an hour following the crash. Citations are pending.
