Eau Claire (WQOW) -- The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team is ranked fifth in the USCHO Division III poll, and fourth in the D3Hockey.com poll.
The Blgolds beat two-time defending national champion St. Norbert, Friday, at a jam-packed Hobbs Ice Center. Saturday, UW-Eau Claire picked up a win at UW-Stevens Point. UWEC's weekend sweep clinched home ice for the NCHA playoffs. Now, with four games left in the regular season, Eau Claire is looking for its first ever confrence championship.
"We're in uncharted territory," says UWEC head coach Matt Loen, "we've never been in this position before. We'll enjoy it and hopefully Friday Night we'll come out with a victory and then we'll start focusing in on Saturday."
"Our coaches have done a really good job," says senior forward Jordan Singer, "each week we just focus on the next team that we are playing. That's got to be the key for us. We just need to focus on whatever team we're playing next and that's it."
UW-Eau Claire will skate at UW-Stout, Friday, at 7:30 P.M.
