MADISON (WKOW)-- In a few weeks, Wisconsin farmers will get a chance to meet their state lawmakers and discuss agricultural issues.
Ag Day at the capitol is organized by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. The goal is to get farmers more involved in the legislative side of farm-related issues.
The event will be on March 6 at Monona Terrace in Madison.
The group says hot topics are expected to include agricultural economics, animal welfare, and environmental issues. Ag Day will begin with lunch and a panel of guest legislative speakers. In the mid-afternoon, farmers will walk the streets of the capitol to meet with their legislators in the state Assembly and Senate.
Attendees are encouraged to make appointments with their lawmakers in advance.
