MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (WKOW) -- The hostage situation in Alabama is over and the boy who was held hostage is safe.
The FBI says officers stormed the underground bunker where the boy was being held after his abductor, 65-year-old Jimmy Dykes, was seen with a gun.
At that point, officers believed the boy was in imminent danger. Officers entered the bunker just after 3 p.m. CST.
The 65-year-old Dykes had held the boy in the bunker after killing a school bus driver and grabbing the boy last week.
