Eau Claire (WQOW) - Travelers could soon have another
place to stay in the Chippewa
Valley.
Last night, the Lake Hallie Village
Board approved the site plan for a four-story hotel west of the 53 bypass. No
decision has been made about whether the hotel would be part of a national
chain. There would be a fitness center,
a pool and more space for future development.
A board member says there is a need in Lake Hallie
for more lodging.
"Particularly in
the summertime we have a lot of north-south traffic, and east-west too with
tourism and people that are on vacation or traveling. Businesspeople, people
coming to the area from Minneapolis or Green Bay having business in Eau Claire will be staying there," said
Mark Perry, a Lake Hallie Village Board member.
Board members expect
construction to start this spring.
