Rice Lake (WQOW) -- Henry Ellenson was a force as a freshman for Rice Lake, when he stood 6-7 and weighed 230 pounds. Now, as a sophomore, he's even bigger: 6-9 & 250. As Ellenson continues to grow, so too, does the list of college programs interested in his services.
Ellenson already has offers from Minnesota, Marquette, Iowa State, and Georgetown. Wisconsin has been following him as well, along with Nebraska and Purdue.
Henry got to watch older brother Wally go through the recruiting process before Wally signed with Minnesota, so that experience has helped Henry keep things in perspective.
"I've learned a lot," says Henry Ellenson, "I've learned to stay patient with things, because he [Wally] was known early, but really, his summer going into his senior year, he exploded. It's humbling, my first offer, I was surprised, and it's just been humbling ever since just hearing the next one come in, and it's fun, it's a fun process."
"He is only a sophomore, but he's very passionate about the game," says Rice Lake head coach Kevin Orr, "and he wants to get better. I mean, there's times where during the season, I've got to say, you know what, I don't want you in the gym this weekend, let your legs rest, we need you fresh, stay out of here."
Rice Lake's next game is set for Friday night, when the Warriors travel to Menomonie.
