MADISON (WKOW) -- Five student athletes from Madison Memorial High School signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. Nick Menninga will swim at UW-Milwaukee, Peter Webb will golf at Valpariaso and Mary Erikson signed to play soccer at Northwestern. Two Memorial football players will play at the next level, as Jester Weah and Joe Ferguson signed their letters of intent. Weah will play at Pittsburgh, where former Wisconsin offensive coordinator Paul Chryst is the head coach. Weah expects to play wide receiver for the Panthers.
Joe Ferguson signed with Wisconsin, where he will walk-onto the football team. Ferguson played quarterback as a senior for the Spartans, but he expects to play safety for the Badgers. Ferguson is the grandson of UW athletic director Barry Alvarez. To hear both Ferguson and Alvarez react to today's event, click on the video link.
