MADISON (WKOW) -- The City of Madison took down its website Thursday for what officials say was unexpected maintenance.
The Mayor's Office says staff members became aware of vulnerability in one of the software products used to support the site. As a precautionary measure, they took down the site to ensure its safety and the safety of customers.
As of 6 p.m. Thursday, the city says parts of the site are available. Staff members will continue to post informational updates about snow plowing and sidewalk snow removal. Updates will also be posted on the city's Facebook and Twitter pages.
The full site is expected to be restored by this weekend.
