DUNKIRK (WKOW) -- The Dane County Medical Examiners Office has identified the woman killed in a crash Friday in Dunkirk as 34-year-old Alyson Burn, of Janesville.
The crash happened early Friday afternoon near the intersection of State Highway 51 and Tower Road, shutting down traffic on the highway in both directions for hours.
Investigators believe the 2000 Toyota Camry Burns was driving crossed the centerline of the highway and collided with a recycling truck coming in the other direction.
Burns 4-year-old daughter was secured in a car seat and suffered minor injuries. She was treated at Stoughton Hospital and released to relatives. The driver of the recycling truck was uninjured.
Burns died at the scene as a result of the blunt force injuries suffered in the crash. Toxicology testing is underway.
Dane County deputies are looking into the cause of the crash.
