Clark County (Press Release) - The
Clark County Sheriff's Department is continuing the investigation into a three
vehicle crash that sent 13 people to area hospitals.
On
Sunday, February 10, 2013, at about 3:30 p.m. the Sheriff's Department received a
911 call reporting a crash involving three vehicles with numerous injuries,
on U.S. Highway 10 about one mile west of Hickman Rd.
Initial investigation indicates an eastbound vehicle lost control in the
slushy road conditions, first sideswiping one westbound vehicle and then
striking a second westbound vehicle nearly head on.
Seven victims in the striking vehicle were
transported, five victims in the vehicle that was struck head on were
transported and one person in the vehicle that was side swiped. The victims were transported to Mayo Health
Systems-Oakridge Hospital in Osseo, Black River Memorial Hospital and Ministry
St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
U.S. Highway
10 was closed and traffic was re-routed until about 8 p.m. when it was
reopened. Exact conditions of the
victims are unknown. Some have been
treated and released and some are currently in critical condition. Three of the victims required extrication
from the vehicles.

Center First Responders; Black River Falls Fire and EMS; Fairchild Fire and
First Responders; Humbird Fire Dept.; Marshfield Fire and Rescue; Merrillan
Fire and First Reponders; Neillsville EMS; Osseo EMS; Ministry Transportation
Services-Spirit Ground; Clark County Highway Department and Wisconsin State
Patrol.

Clark County (WQOW) – Nine people were injured after three vehicles collided on Highway 10 in Clark County. The Clark County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 3:30 Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Hickman Road. One person was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. The extent of their injuries is unknown. The highway was reopened around 8:00 Sunday night. More information is expected to be released Monday morning.
