MADISON (WKOW) -- Gas prices continue to rise around the Madison area. The average price for a gallon of regular gas rose 7.9 cents in the past week.
The average price was $3.59 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 210 gas outlets in Madison. This compares with the national average that has increased 5.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.55 per gallon, according to gasoline price website.
Including the change in gas prices in Madison during the past week, prices yesterday were 15.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 42.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 28.2 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 7.2 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
