MADISON (WKOW) -- The state superintendent candidates released their campaign spending reports Monday, and they show the incumbent in the race has a huge cash advantage.

Reports filed with the state on Monday show incumbent Tony Evers had just over $100,000 cash on hand as of February 4, compared with about $33,500 for Republican state Rep. Don Pridemore.

Evers, who is running for a second term in the nonpartisan position, reports raising $48,500 in the first five weeks of the year. Over the same period, Pridemore raised $2,400.

The election is April 2.

The three state Supreme Court candidates must also file reports showing how much they have raised and spent through February 4.

One of the three will be eliminated in the Feb. 19 primary. Those running are incumbent Justice Pat Roggensack, Milwaukee attorney Vince Megna and Marquette University law professor Ed Fallone.
