RICE LAKE - A Rice Lake man involved in a domestic dispute will start serving a jail sentence on Friday.

Thor Lindemans was arrested last August for beating his fiancee. The woman's 9-year old daughter told police that she tried to call 911, but Lindemans grabbed her phone, pushed her out of the room and locked the door.

The girl was praised by police for then finding an old phone and using it to call 911. Lindemans was sentenced Monday to a month in jail, and cannot drink during three years of probation.
